Goodbye London. Hello Wales!

This morning we pressed onward out of London, and into the next leg of our adventure. London is an amazing town and I think it’s safe to say that everyone from our group enjoyed our visit in their own capacities. We had great food, great shopping, and great fun in London town. “We came, we saw, we conquered.”

After somewhat of a long bus ride through the beautiful English countryside we crossed the border into Wales late this afternoon. We have arrived in Wrexham and will be staying here for most of the week. (Look out Wrexham! MC students have arrived!) Shortly after we checked into our hotel we met with Dr. Kathryn Ellis and Dr. Joss Bartlett from the University of Glyndwr and the learning began immediately. We had a classroom style learning session that included a brief history of Wales as discussed in a poem written by Grahame Davies. We also learned a few simple phrases in the Welsh language. The pronunciation wasn’t easy but it was fun to learn and try it as a group! From Wrexham we will be venturing out daily to visit historical sites like the walled city of Chester, Dolyddelan and Caernarfon Castles, the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, and more.

We will be blogging a bit more frequently from here on out as our schedule picks up so stay tuned!

Fun Fact: Two of our students will be featured tomorrow in an interview on a local radio station! How cool is that? We will be providing the information on times and the link in this blog for anyone who might want to stream it live!
